Inclusion
Today I went to Averill Elementary School for one of my field placements. Overall I really enjoyed it and at first the kids were shy, but eventually they started opening up to me and me to them. There were only about ten kids in her classroom either in first, second, or third grade. They either have a learning disability, a cognitive impairment, or an emotional impairment. These students only come to the special education class for reading, writing, and spelling help. They are in the general education classes for math, science, social studies, gym, music, and art. Then in the afternoon the teacher has kindergarten students. I was surprised by how smart these students were and how motivated they are to learn. When the students were giving words to sound out they kept saying, “Give me a hard word.”

Was this for CEP 451? I still haven't been to my field placement yet but I'm going this Wednesday morning. I'm probably gonna have to catch up with hours later in the semester.. overwhelming.
